Events were released throughout the lifespan of each and every generation of Pokemon games. Events are exclusive Pokemon you could only obtain via a special circumstance, such as visiting your local Toys R Us
or Gamestop with your gameboy. The employees would transfer a special Pokemon onto your game via a link cable or a local
wireless signal. Eventually these events transitioned to either being fully online, or requiring a special code. Most event Pokemon are shinies,
legendaries, or mythicals, but some are Pokemon with exclusive movesets, abilities, and sprites.
